ICPROX-CPU
The ICPROX-CPU is the control unit on the vehicle in an ICPROX installation. It evaluates the distance measurements of the connected UWB antennas, decides on the reaction according to the configured zones and switches four volt-free relay contacts — from a warning light through to shutting the vehicle down.
It also powers display and accessories and provides the Wi-Fi web interface used for setting the system up.
Part number 902.220 — Shop — Manual
Features
- Up to three UWB antennas — distance only, or distance with direction (360°)
- Four volt-free relay outputs for a graded reaction: warn, slow down, stop
- Two digital 24 V inputs for external signals such as a door contact or push-button
- Set-up through its own Wi-Fi web interface — no router, no software installation
- Display, RFID access control and reversing sensors on one shared cable
- Firmware update over the air or via USB; event logging to SD card
Getting started
- Mount the control unit in a protected position on the vehicle.
- Connect one to three ICPROX-ANT units to the antenna line.
- Connect display, access control and reversing sensors to the device line.
- Wire relays R1–R3 to the desired vehicle reactions; loop R4 into the safety circuit if required. Mains loads only through an interposing relay.
- Switch the power on, then open the web interface and set the reduction zones, relay behaviour and antenna positions.
Wiring, all configuration settings, the status indications and troubleshooting are described in full in the manual.
What the software does
Everything ICPROX does on the vehicle is configured in the control unit — through the web interface or through the setup tool over a USB cable. An ICPROX-KEY in range releases the changes; without one everything can be viewed but nothing altered.
Zones — where a level takes effect
The reduction levels do not depend on distance alone but on areas around the vehicle. They are set up as rectangles, seen from above:
- Three zones for people — one each for green, yellow and red
- Three zones for vehicles and AGVs — again one per level
- One exclusion zone in which nothing is triggered
People and vehicles therefore get separate zones. A forklift may come closer to another forklift than to a person — and that is exactly what can be expressed here.
The exclusion zone is meant for whatever belongs to the vehicle itself: an attachment, a tagged container riding along, the cab. Without it the vehicle would react to itself.
In single-antenna operation the system knows no direction. Seven circular zones then apply instead of the rectangles — the same grading, just the same all round.
Actions — what a level triggers
For every combination of source and level you define which of the four relays pull in and which signal tone sounds. The five sources and three levels are described under ICPROX-P.
Two switches act across the board: sound muted silences all tones, relays inverted reverses the switching sense — for installations that expect closed contacts at rest.
Surveying the antennas
The control unit has to know where the antennas sit on the vehicle. You enter the identifiers of the three antennas (six digits, printed on the label) and their positions in millimetres: A0 as the reference point, A1 and A2 relative to it. On screen they carry the same colours as in the interface — A0 blue, A1 green, A2 yellow.
Access and inputs/outputs
With an ICPROX-SEC an RFID card releases the vehicle. You can set whether the button, the second input or the display acts as a switch, and tags can be collected into groups — to treat visitors differently from staff, for instance.
Rear area and building zones
The ICPROX-CAM can be enabled and tied to reverse gear, so that it only acts when reversing. In a building equipped with ICPROX-N the control unit also shows which zone the vehicle is currently in, and lets that zone be reset.
Connection to other systems
Over MQTT the control unit reports its state to a higher-level system. You enter the Wi-Fi credentials, broker, port and identifier.
Display
What appears on the display can be adjusted: whether tags and zones are drawn, how far the view reaches, how wide the sector is drawn.
Day-to-day operation
The live status continuously shows what the unit currently sees — detected tags, connected devices, software versions. The configuration can be saved as a whole and restored, which shortens setting up a fleet of identical vehicles to a single operation. Firmware updates arrive over USB or — with the OTABRIDGE — over radio.
