ICPROX-Tag
The ICPROX-Tag is what makes a person or a vehicle visible to the ICPROX system. Vehicles fitted with ICPROX-P continuously measure the distance to every tag within range and derive their reaction from it — warning, speed limitation or stop. The tag has no controls at all: it is charged, handed out and worn.
Part number 902.214, charging cradle 902.237 — Shop — Manual
Features
- Ultra-wideband radio (6.5 GHz), distance measured to about 10 cm
- Works through racking, walls, dust and steam — no line of sight needed
- Warns the wearer as well, by vibration and an audible signal
- More than 48 hours of continuous operation on one charge
- No buttons, no switch, nothing to set
- Records no position data and no personal data
Roles
All tags are identical in construction. The role is stated when ordering and set at the factory; each role has its own symbol on the vehicle display.
| Role | Carried by | Particularity |
|---|---|---|
| Personal tag | Employees, visitors, contractors | Warns the wearer by vibration and audible signal |
| Vehicle tag | Vehicles without ICPROX equipment of their own | Makes the vehicle visible to equipped vehicles; no vibration |
| AGV tag | Automated guided vehicles | Like the vehicle tag, with its own display symbol |
A vehicle tag only makes a vehicle visible — it does not react itself. For a vehicle that is to respond to danger points and gates, see ICPROX-4R2I or the full ICPROX vehicle system.
Getting started
- Place the tags in the charging cradle and connect its USB socket to a power supply — the red indicator brightens slowly while charging, and stays lit when full.
- Assign the printed device number to a person or a vehicle and record the assignment; it appears in the device list on the vehicle display.
- Wear the tag unobstructed, on the high-visibility vest or on the belt — not in a pocket and not behind metal.
- Approach a vehicle and check: the tag appears in the device list, and vibration and signal start at the warning distance.
- Return the tag to the charging cradle at the end of the shift. In the cradle it does not measure.
Charging, battery life, roles and troubleshooting are described in full in the manual.
