ICTRAC tags

A tag is the thing being located. It sends short radio pulses that the anchors in the building receive; from the times of flight the system computes its position to about 10 cm. It is attached to load carriers, vehicles, tools or people.

All tags use the same method and offer the same accuracy. They differ in form factor, power source and added functions.

All enclosures are PA12 from our own production.

Three questions lead to the choice:

  1. Should the tag display something? Only the infoTags carry an e-paper display. It shows content straight from the ERP — order number, destination, contents of the load carrier.
  2. Is the cell swapped or charged? The quad tags have a built-in battery charged over USB; all others carry a replaceable cell that is taken out for charging.
  3. How long should it last? That depends on cell size and transmission interval. The 18650 cell of the large infoTag holds more than twice what a 14500 does.

liteTag

ICTRAC liteTag

The smallest tag of the range, running off a CR2032 coin cell. No battery, no charging port: when the cell is flat, it is replaced.

Suited wherever many units are in circulation and a charging infrastructure would not be worth the effort — load carriers, tools, small parts.

liteTag Lanyard

ICTRAC liteTag Lanyard

The same tag with an eyelet for a lanyard. The extra 6 mm of length are the eyelet; electronics, cell and runtime are unchanged.

quad 133643

ICTRAC quad 133643

Compact tag with a built-in LiPo battery, charged over USB Micro-B or in a charging tray of the IC Case.

The form-factor name states the dimensions: 13 mm high, 36 mm wide, 43 mm long. Matching charging trays and holders exist for it.

Dimensions (L × W × H)43 × 36 × 13 mm

quad 164643

ICTRAC quad 164643

The larger form factor of the same range: 1000 mAh instead of 450, so roughly twice the runtime at the same transmission interval.

Part number902.079A009
Dimensions (L × W × H)46 × 44 × 16 mm

Tag 14500

ICTRAC Tag 14500

Tag with a replaceable LiFePO4 cell in AA size and two buttons for input by the wearer — an acknowledgement or a status message, for example.

The cell is taken out for charging; in operation there is therefore no downtime as long as charged cells are at hand.

Part number902.185

Power sourceLiFePO4 14500 (AA), 3.2 V, 600 mAh, replaceable

infoTag 2.13″

ICTRAC infoTag 2.13 inch

Tag with an e-paper display, 2.13 inch. The display draws current only while it changes and stays readable afterwards without power — which is why it costs almost no runtime.

The content comes straight from the customer's ERP: your own layouts, filled with the fields needed on the floor. The load carrier thus carries its order data visibly with it.

Part number902.180
Dimensions (L × W × H)73 × 35 × 26 mm
Weight18 g

MaterialPA12

A version with red carries part number 902.180B — black/white/red instead of black/white, all other data identical. Red suits whatever has to stand out: a block, a deviation, a rush order.

infoTag 2.7″ 14500

ICTRAC infoTag 2.7 inch, 14500

The larger 2.7-inch display, running off the same 14500 cell as the small infoTag. More area for text, same power source.

Part number902.181B
Dimensions (L × W × H)86 × 54 × 26 mm

infoTag 2.7″ 18650

ICTRAC infoTag 2.7 inch, 18650

The same 2.7-inch display with the larger 18650 cell: 1400 mAh instead of 600, so more than twice the runtime. The enclosure is 4 mm taller for it and the tag twice as heavy.

Part number902.181
