The ICradio AVR modules are delivered, providing a transparent UART interface. All data send to the ICradio's UART is transmitted via the radio, any data received from the radio is transmitted via the UART. To be able to use multiple connections in parallel, each ICradio has to be configured for a particular network.

The transparent UART Protocol is a bidirectional connection between two or more modules. These perform buffering of the UART-stream and secure the transmission of each data packet by an acknowledgment. To prevent the buffers from overflow, software handshaking has been implemented. The application provides a transparent radio-communication without the loss of data.
