ICnova AP7000 Base

ICnova AP7000 Base

The ICnova AP7000 Base with the AT32AP7000 is ideal for linux beginners. Also known as "Grasshopper" the board is quite popular in the linux community. All Linux sources and the complete toolchain can be downloaded ordered on a CD and are entirely open source. The board is delivered with the preinstalled linux kernel v2.6.28 with some adaptions to the ICnova AP7000 Base. Besides an ethernet and an USB-device port, almost all GPIO pins are accessible on pin headers.

The ICnova AP7000 Base has the following features:

  • 140MHz max. 200MHz AVR32 AP7000
  • 64MB SDRAM
  • 32Bit data bus
  • 8MB Flash
  • USB-UART via CP2102 (optional USB2.0 Highspeed Device from AP7000)
  • 10/100MBit/s Ethernet
  • high-quality step-down-regulator for this low-power embedded platform
  • 8x LED
  • 1x user switch
  • 1x reset switch
  • UART
  • I2C
  • all important GPIOs on pin headers

[edit] Software

The board is delivered with the preinstalled linux kernel v2.6.28 with some adaptions to the ICnova AP7000 Base. All Modules provided by In-Circuit usally have a Buildroot based system preinstalled, so they can be used out of the box. For some configuration a suitable Android-Image is provided, too. The Support-CD contains all sources, incl. Linux 2.6.28, which are needed to build a toolchain and a working filesystem for the ICnova AP7000 Base.
